SMS – Smart Made Simple Takes a Strategic Approach to Waste by Appointing a New Planning Manager

With a zero-waste objective, SMS – Smart Made Simple, has invested in a new Planning Manager to ensure that their operations work efficiently and effectively, increasing their future productivity.

Meet Mr. David Buzalski, SMS – Smart Made Simple’s new Planning Manager. The leading Electronics Manufacturing Service Provider (EMS), headquartered in Nottingham, UK, welcomed Mr. Buzalski into this newly created role on December 1st, 2017.

For the past eleven years, Mr. Buzalski has held various production related roles, initially within the FMCG foods industry, moving into medical equipment operations and laterally into the electronics manufacturing world.

Having always worked within a process orientated environment, Mr. Buzalski brings a high degree of planning, coordination and control management to the role. Within SMS – Smart Made Simple, Mr. Buzalski will ensure the manufacturing process is robust with a reliable output, as per their Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) fluctuating forecast requirements.

Mr. Graham Shaw, Chief Operating Officer, SMS – Smart Made Simple, commented; “Mr. Buzalski is another high calibre recruit for us. He has joined our team at a time of growth in our customer base. In a natural response to our expansion, we require strong people to oversee our planning department, our resources, as well as organising the production schedules. Mr. Buzalski and his team will assess each customer project on a case-by-case basis to ensure they are operating to full supply chain management optimisation standards.

On his appointment, Mr. Buzalski commented; “There is a real energy in the market at present around SMS – Smart Made Simple, and that get-up-and-go attitude can be felt when you join the team. In a previous role, I had the opportunity to build a planning department from the bottom up, and I’d like to transfer the knowledge I accrued from doing so into SMS – Smart Made Simple. One of the reasons that this role was so attractive to me, is that the management empowers their team to drive change and implement new procedures, combined with tried and tested methods, for positive results.

Initially, I want to tackle waste. In previous functions, waste has been one of my headaches. I don’t like it and when I joined SMS – Smart Made Simple, I was delighted to find Lean and Six Sigma methodologies embedded within their company culture. They are practices that I live by in my professional and personal life!”

Mr. Buzalski holds a CIMA professional qualification in Management and a Managing Safety Course IOSH.
