Facility Tour
Eric and Dieter visited the RAFI plant in Uberlingen, Germany in December 2021. This plant was privately owned for 40 years and manufactured components and sub-assemblies. At the request of customers, the range of services was expanded to include the development of customised assemblies and systems, and in 2019 EMS accounted for about a third of sales. The site employs 100 engineers and focuses on human-machine interfaces (HMI) and controls, including systems for agriculture. The company cited material shortages and the struggle for talent as the most pressing challenges for the end of 2021.
