AUSTIN, TX – Cetec ERP has released a series of product updates that help manufacturers reduce manual work, access ERP data more quickly, and automate common business processes.
The updates include Model Context Protocol (MCP) support for AI-assisted ERP reporting, custom automation services, expanded notification and task tools, batch rescheduling improvements, automated receipt cost adjustments, AP Automation, and OCR-based Document Scan & Attach.

AI-Enabled ERP Data Access Through MCP
Cetec ERP now includes an MCP server that allows technical users to connect MCP-compatible AI tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, and others, to a Cetec ERP instance through the API.
With MCP, users can ask plain-language questions against live ERP data, such as open sales orders, available inventory for a part, outstanding purchase orders, customer AR balances, nonconformance records, or production capacity for the coming week. Most MCP tools are currently read-only. A limited set of write functions is available for creating quotes, creating BOMs, and updating BOMs, and should be used by users who understand the API and related business processes.
Automating Repetitive Business Processes
Cetec ERP has expanded custom automation services for manufacturers that regularly process spreadsheets, documents, and other recurring files. These services can ingest data and trigger actions in Cetec ERP for use cases such as customer purchase order spreadsheets, custom BOM reports, supplier forecasts, and weekly production reports.
Cetec ERP has also added object notifiers, generic tasks, and reminders. Users can create custom email alerts based on selected business objects, conditions, and triggers. They can also assign work, set due dates, associate tasks with business records, attach documents, and send reminder emails.
Updates for Accounting, Purchasing, and Production
Cetec ERP has introduced automated receipt cost adjustments to help post corrected inventory, accrued purchases, and cost of goods sold amounts when receipt cost or quantity data changes after a transaction has moved through the system.
The platform also added support for vendor invoices received before goods arrive. This allows teams to process invoices using a two-way match between purchase order lines and invoice amounts when appropriate, while maintaining visibility into related reconciliation needs.
For production teams, Cetec ERP has added batch rescheduling so users can select multiple work orders and reschedule them together. The function has also been expanded to support finite scheduling mode. Other recent automation-related updates include part substitute material hot swap enhancements, automatic put away improvements, and broader pass-through traceability for bonus column data across linked sales and purchasing records.
AP Automation and Document Scan & Attach
Cetec ERP has also released AP Automation and OCR-based Document Scan & Attach. AP Automation allows vendor invoices to be sent to a company AP email address or scanned through an OCR-capable scanner. The system can auto-create AP vouchers, link PO line receipts through vendor invoice remittance, and attach the vendor invoice PDF to the voucher record.
Document Scan & Attach allows paper or PDF documents to be scanned, read through OCR, matched to the appropriate transaction record, and attached to the corresponding business object in Cetec ERP. Common use cases include attaching vendor packing slips to PO receipt records or attaching scanned work order traveler packets to the correct work order.
