ECIA Releases Latest Quarterly DTAM Analysis Report

ECIA Chief Analyst Dale Ford Discusses the Trends

ATLANTA – ECIA’s latest report on data related to the distribution total available market delivers the latest quarterly DTAM estimates for the Americas for detailed component categories with data through Q3 2021.

As seen in Figure 1, the Q3 2021 Americas DTAM market built on the dramatic Q2 2021 surge in growth from the low point of Q2 2020 as quarterly revenues have now exceeded $6.6 B and sustained year-over-year growth of 21% between Q2 and Q3 2021.

“The trend shown in this latest update sets the stage for a record setting year for revenues in 2021 topping the revenues in 2019 of $23.1 B,” explained Dale Ford, ECIA Chief Analyst. “These results are consistent with the overall surge in economic growth over the past year as well as the Electronic Component Sales Trends (ECST) research published.”

The Distributor DTAM (Distributor Total Available Market) captures distributor sales for electronic components in the Americas. Quarterly sales data for individual categories within Semiconductors, Passive Components, Electromechanical Product and Displays are reported by ECIA member and non-member manufacturers and selected ECIA distributors. The aggregated sales data along with estimates for non-participating companies is used to develop total DTAM market sizing for each quarter. This total market sizing data is reported back to the contributing companies in each category.
