Teco to construct motor factory in Vietnam

Teco Electric & Machinery has disclosed it will invest US$10-20 million to build a factory making small motors in Vietnam, with trial production to being towards the end of 2018 and annual production capacity to increase to 300,000 units in 2020.

Currently, Teco has annual production capacity of one million small motors in Taiwan, 500,000-600,000 units in China, 100,000 units in Malaysia, 30,000 units in India and 20,000-30,000 units in Mexico.

Of first-quarter 2018 consolidated revenues of NT$12.156 billion (US$412 million), small motors accounted for about 20%, large motors 17-18%, electric control systems 10-11%, home-use electric appliances 17-18%, and electric engineering projects 6-7%, Teco said.
