Japan Robot Association Issues M2M Communication Standard

The SMT equipment communication rule standardization subcommittee (hereafter referred to as ELS) from the Japan Robot Association (hereafter referred to as JARA), of which Fuji Corporation is a member, has advanced the standardization of communication for M2M cooperation in SMT lines.

The standard JARAS 1014 has been introduced for the SMT market.

Generally, many SMT lines are made up of SMT machines from multiple manufacturers and it takes time and money to consistently manage the information from the entire line.

Because this condition is well understood in the industry, twenty companies got together to create and investigate a unified standard as ELS and put them together as JARAS 1014.

This standard has been created for the SMT market by expanding on the communication standard SEMI A1 HC established by SEMI. This standard makes it possible for users to freely create a production system, consistently manage information, and quickly support variable-mix, variable-volume production.
