Executive Interview: Empowering Global Electronics, The Aimtron Way

EMSNOW caught up with Aimtron’s Founder and CEO, Mukesh Vasani to learn more about his company’s journey from humble beginnings to global impact. In many respects, Aimtron’s journey mirrors India’s rising role in the electronics world.

EMSNOW readers are aware of Aimtron, but give us a quick overview of your background, your company, and your mission in India and the U.S.

Mukesh Vasani

I grew up in a small village in India where education wasn’t available to my parents. After moving to the U.S. in the 1990s, I worked multiple jobs while studying electronics engineering. In 2009, in the middle of a global recession, I launched Aimtron (AIM to make good money in elec-TRON named AIMTRON) with a single used SMT line. Fast forward to today, Aimtron is a respected global EMS company. We support critical sectors like aerospace, defense, healthcare, and digital infrastructure. In India, we are part of the ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, contributing to national development while building global capabilities.

EMSNOW: Tell us about your June IPO on India’s NSE.

Going public on NSE’s SME platform in June 2024 was a huge milestone for Aimtron. It gave us the resources to fuel our next chapter of growth and validated our long-term vision. With the capital, we’re developing a state-of-the-art, INR 1,000 Cr revenue greenfield facility in India. This factory will handle everything—from PCB assemblies to fully integrated systems. It supports Aimtron 2.0, our vision for expanding capacity, adopting automation, and maintaining global standards of quality and delivery.

EMSNOW: What does your new ODM engagement signify?

Our new partnership with a U.S.-based publicly traded company marks our entry into Original Design Manufacturing (ODM). Instead of only manufacturing products designed by others, we now help design, engineer, and manufacture them. This allows us to work with customers from the idea stage to delivery. It also highlights India’s potential not just as a manufacturer, but as an innovation hub. We’re proud to lead this transformation from India and deliver globally competitive products.

EMSNOW: How does Aimtron support digital infrastructure?

Digital infrastructure—like cloud storage, data centers, and edge computing—needs highly reliable electronics. This is where Aimtron excels. We focus on complex builds that involve multilayer PCBs, thermal management, EMI protection, and robust, ruggedized designs. With manufacturing facilities in both India and the U.S., we can quickly serve customers who are building the foundation of the digital age.

EMSNOW: What’s the plan for expanding your Indian footprint?

Our capacity will soon exceed INR 450 Cr. The new facility will more than double it, offering SMT, plastics, and system-level integration—all optimized for global delivery and faster turnarounds. We are also exploring other options with government subsidies.

EMSNOW: Why choose India for expansion?

India offers innovation, skilled labor, and supply chain resilience. As a ‘China Plus One’ strategy hub with strong policy support, it’s ideal for long-term electronics investment.

EMSNOW: Why pursue organic expansion over acquisition?

We’re doing both. With current capacity set to max out in two years, we needed to launch greenfield expansion early to keep pace. Organic growth lets us build lean, automated, standardized systems from day one. Simultaneously, we are exploring acquisitions in India and North America that align with our culture and strategic roadmap.

EMSNOW: How does Aimtron’s culture drive competitive advantage?

Our people-first culture, supported by the Aimtron Foundation, promotes training, education, and community growth. We build not just business—but people.

“We don’t just grow business—we grow people.”
— Mukesh Vasani

EMSNOW: Any final thoughts for EMSNOW readers?

India is rising as a global innovation hub. Aimtron invites OEMs and innovators to collaborate with us on speed, scale, and sustainability. Our broader goal is to develop the next generation of skilled electronics talent. Thank you to EMSNOW for this platform. Let’s build the future—the Aimtron way.
