Amerway Offers Solder Pot Analysis, Bath Testing to Ensure Optimum Quality

Amerway Inc., a leading solder manufacturer servicing the electronics industry with high-purity alloys and solder products, provides solder pot analysis, bath testing, and other metals analysis services to ensure optimum quality control, aided by Amerway’s state-of-the-art metals analyzer, the SPECTROMAXx system.

SPECTROMAXx is from SPECTRO, one of the worldwide leading suppliers of analytical instruments, employing optical emission (Arc/Spark OES, ICP-OES) and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) technology.

“Amerway customers in SMT PCB assembly understand the critical need for absolute accuracy, quality control, and solder alloy purity,” Tim Brown, Sales Manager, said. “With so many different lead-free alloys currently in use in electronics manufacturing today, maintaining pot purity for wave and selective soldering processes is absolutely required to maintain an optimized soldering process and end-product reliability,” he added. “Different alloys melt and solidify at different specific temperatures, based on the requirements of a particular application. Our Amerway laboratory facility and SPECTROMAXx system give us the ability to provide our customers with peace of mind, quick testing, and precise, reliable results and reports.”

The SPECTROMAXx Metal Analyzer is used for incoming and outgoing inspections and provides metals analysis of carbon, phosphorous, sulfur and nitrogen. Its testing covers 10 matrices, 65 methods and 54 elements with only one sample. The principle is optical emission spectroscopy (arc spark OES or spark OES). There are currently more than 10,000 SPECTROMAXx systems operating worldwide.
