As AI adoption accelerates across manufacturing, many organizations are finding that the real challenge isn’t launching AI pilots—it’s scaling them across complex operations. FPT’s new global study, From Pilots to Reusable Platforms: A Blueprint for Scaling Enterprise AI, conducted by Forrester Consulting, surveyed 397 business and technology decision-makers across North America, Europe, APAC, and Japan to examine what separates successful enterprise AI deployments from those that stall.
The research found that while more than half (51%) of organizations now dedicate at least 5% of their IT budgets to AI, only 26% consider themselves advanced at operationalizing it. For manufacturers, the biggest barriers are no longer AI models themselves, but integration complexity (41%), data silos (38%), and the challenge of redesigning legacy operating models to support AI at enterprise scale. The report also highlights a growing shift toward end-to-end AI lifecycle partners capable of supporting strategy, integration, governance, deployment, and ongoing operations.
