“The location in Sri Lanka is a central component of our vision. We want to support international customers with local supply chains, competitive prices, and global quality standards – true to our motto ‘co-creating leading innovators.’ Through the expansion, we are strengthening our presence in the growing Asian market and our global electronics supply chain,” announced Stephan Sonderegger, CEO of Variosystems, at the opening. The internationally active Swiss company has been operating in Sri Lanka since 1998. The Badalgama location in the north of Colombo was opened in 2013. It currently has more than 1,300 employees. The expansion will create around 600 further jobs over the next three years.

“The expansion of the manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka was a logical step in the development of the VARIOexperience for our customers. In this way, we can continue to meet the growing demand for first-class electronics manufacturing services in the region in the future,” explained COO Stefan Walther. State-of-the-art production lines and the latest machinery enable the efficient and flexible production of electronics solutions compliant with the highest quality standards.
