SETsquared supports Discovering Start-Ups Competition

Jul 19, 2012

The SETsquared Partnership (www.setsquared.co.uk) will be supporting the Discovering Start-Ups 2012 Competition, and will be providing free SETsquared membership, worth £1000, to each of the five winners.

Organised by Silicon South West and Cambridge Wireless, the competition will take place in London on 21st November when entrants will each pitch to a panel of judges. The competition is sponsored by Taylor Wessing, and also supported by Google and Rohde and Schwarz.

The competition is aimed at start-ups and early stage companies, and is designed for technology businesses. At last year's event, the winners included SETsquared-supported company Blu Wireless.

The five winning companies will receive free virtual membership of SETsquared for a year, worth £1000. They will also each win a free ticket to attend the Future of Wireless International Conference and an opportunity to present in the conference's ‘Innovation Hothouse' session.

The SETsquared membership includes a business MOT, mentoring support, investor readiness training and the opportunity to be selected for various investor showcases in London and the USA.

"This competition is a great opportunity for UK technology start-ups to get seen by a prestigious list of judges, and to network and make contacts," said Simon Bond, Director of the SETsquared Centre, Bath.

To register for the competition, technology start-ups should visit www.cambridgewireless.co.uk/dsu.
