Raymond says - Good Little Trade Show in Chengdu - Day 1 at NEPCON West China

You know how you go to some trade shows, especially the smaller ones, and leave feeling shortchanged and disappointed. Perhaps the attendance was poor or the quality of exhibitors lacking. Well, not in the case of NEPCON West China. I must admit I came to Chengdu without a lot of expectations. NEPCON China held in Shanghai two months earlier was
a good show and the general feeling was that West China was not going to have the same buzz.
The first day one proved me wrong in more ways than one. To start off, the attendance was good and there was a constant stream of visitors coming in throughout the day. As development of the region's electronic manufacturing production capabilities gathers pace, exhibitors from all segments of the industry were on-hand to show their latest products and equipment. The range includes soldering and cleaning materials, manual and reflow soldering equipment, screen printers, AOI and SPI machines, pick-and-place systems and rework equipment to name a few.
Indeed, the SMT pavilion covered the complete range of products in the assembly process and there was even a new PCB pavilion that offered materials and equipment related to PCB manufacturing. Added to this are the soldering competition organized by IPC and other summits and seminars that enrich the knowledge and skills of the visitor.
All in all, a very rewarding first day at NEPCON West China with lots of good feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike. Hope the coming days will prove just as interesting and enjoyable.
