New SMD true sinewave VCXO from Crystek provides high frequency and ultra low phase noise floor performance

Jun 19, 2012

Crystek Crystals Corporation has launched the CVSS-945 – a True SineWave Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator (VCXO) providing -172.9 dBc/Hz noise floor at 1 MHz offset and +/-20 ppm min. APR pullability.  This high-performance VCXO is available in the industry standard 9x14mm SMD package and is engineered to MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-202 specifications.

The CVSS-945 VCXO generates frequencies between 50 MHz and 125 MHz, with output level of +5 dBm min into 50 Ohms and harmonics lower than -25dBc. The CVSS-945 consumes 30 mA max. current @ 5.0 volts and generates no sub-harmonics.

The CVSS-945 is ideal in PLL (phase locked loop) applications where the requirement is translating from 10 MHz to 100 MHz, as an example. For industrial and other rugged uses extended temperature operating range of -40°C to +85°C and other custom specifications are also available.
