Hon Hai Scores 17.8% M-on-M Growth in Sales Revenue of NT$278.7 Bn. in Mar.

Apr 16, 2012

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., the world's largest EMS (electronics manufacturing service) provider by market shares, reported sales revenue of NT$278.7 billion for March, up 17.8% from a month ago or 29.7% from a year earlier, to successfully reverse its revenue drop seen in the past two consecutive months, according to the firm's latest financial report.

The firm finished the first quarter of this year with aggregate revenue of NT$789.9 billion, declining 14.09% from an all-time quarterly high of NT$919.5 billion achieved a quarter ago but surging 42.59% from the same period of last year as the second highest in a single quarter.

Hon Hai's directors attribute the banner sales revenue in the month mainly to strong shipment of consumer electronics, including Apple Inc.'s iPhone and iPad. Additionally, the firm's shipments of computers and communication devices also remained robust to help fuel its revenue growth in the month.

Institutional investors indicate that the firm, which has built increasingly close business ties with Apple on contract production, is very likely to see its operating performance surge quarter by quarter this year, mainly because the U.S. customer is scheduled to launch new Macbook in the second quarter and iPhone 5 in the third quarter along with the long-awaited iTV, each of which is widely regarded as a strong growth driver for Hon Hai's revenue.
