AUO expects global LCD TV shipments to grow 26% on year in 2010

AU Optronics (AUO) expects global LCD TV shipments to grow 26% on year to reach 181 million units in 2010, said the company's executive VP of global business unit Paul Peng, despite inventory issues in the market.
Shipments in the first half of 2010 already saw an about 30% on-year growth and the shipments ratio for the first and second halves of 2010 will
be 45:55, Peng added. AUO expects LCD TV shipments in the China market to reach 39 million units this year, which is more optimistic than many market observers' estimates of around 36 million units.
