Saline Lectronics invests in Orpro Vision's AOI solutions

Saline Lectronics, located in Saline, Michigan, has installed an additional Orpro Vision Automated Optical Inspection System. The American company specializes in manufacturing mid-volume, high-mix electronic printed circuit board assemblies. As a contract manufacturer, Saline provides electronics manufacturing services including contract design supporting DFX for manufacturing, assembly and test to state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, circuit board testing and product assembly (box builds).

Since taking over the Assembly Division from Orbotech, Orpro Vision strengthened the R&D center in Europe and released new and improved software versions to the existing models. Orpro Vision supplies process control solutions for the electronics assembly industry in America, Europe, Africa and Israel.

The latest AOI addition will join the existing Post Reflow and Post Paste AOI systems from Orpro Vision's cost-effective AOI solutions that delivers excellent results for improving the product quality and boosting the productivity. Seeing increased activity, the company has decided to add more Post Reflow Inspection capability; they confirmed their choice was based on the high level of support combined with the quality and performance of the system.

Symbion P36 Post Paste System provides superior volumetric solder paste inspection and measurement, enabling real-time control of the solder paste process. The system utilizes an optimized scanning technique with two scan lines operating simultaneously via independent optical channels for 3-D and 2-D image acquisition. This enables 100% full board coverage and precise measurements of solder paste deposit volume, area, shape, and location.

Symbion S36 Post Reflow system utilizes advanced "Dimensional Picture Image eXtraction" (DPIX) technology which ensures superior detection accuracy with minimized falls calls. A specialized, stationary 3-D optical head employs a series of high performance cameras – one top and four angled for primary inspection. The system provides precise measurement of component position and full coverage of even the most challenging solder defects such as J-Legs or fine pitch leads.
