Nov 09, 2009
Earlier this week the NEDA Manufacturer of the Year awards were announced during the 2009 NEDA Executive Conference in Chicago.
The award category was created in 1990 to recognize the manufacturer-suppliers that best exemplify the spirit of cooperation in the electronic distribution industry. Companies are nominated by the NEDA Board of Directors
based on their policies to advocate supplier authorized distribution and their support of the association. Winners are selected via ballot by NEDA distributor members in two categories: Interconnect, Passive and Electromechanical Products (IP&E) and Active.
NEDA President Brian McNally of Arrow Electronics presented the IP&E Products award to Joan Wainwright, Tyco Electronics' Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications. McNally spoke about Tyco Electronics strong commitment to the industry and the company's efforts to make distribution a top priority. The company provides superior service to their distributors and has improved the efficiency and profitability of their distribution network. Tyco Electronics is an active NEDA member and has had a presence on the NEDA Board for many years.
Jeff Newell, Director of the Americas Business Operations accepted the Active Component award on behalf of Texas Instruments, Inc. In presenting the award, McNally noted that TI has been a long-time proponent of authorized distribution. The company understands the channel and devotes much time and effort to tailor programs and strategies to optimize each distributor relationship. They strive for operational efficiency to cut cost out of the supply chain while maintaining their world-class technology. TI is an active NEDA member and representatives have held various board positions over the years.
Each company maintains programs that are important to the success of their distribution partners. NEDA is proud to have them as members and congratulates them on this honor.
