Phil Gallagher honored at 2009 NEDA executive conference

The National Electronic Distributors Association (NEDA) bestowed one of its highest honors, the Gail S. Carter Award, to Phil Gallagher of Avnet Technology Solutions. The annual presentation was held during the 2009 NEDA Executive Conference at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. The award acknowledges electronic distributor principals who have made significant
contributions to the distribution industry, have taken an active role in NEDA and civic affairs, and are recognized by the industry as leaders.
NEDA President Brian McNally of Arrow Electronics presented the award and praised Mr. Gallagher's contributions to the industry. Gallagher served on the NEDA Board in various capacities from 2001 to 2008. He served as its president from 2005 to 2007. Throughout his tenure, he was instrumental in promoting the importance of the association and was a persuasive advocate for key suppliers to become more involved in promoting authorized distribution. McNally praised his genuine sense of optimism and ability to find the positive in every situation and to strive for win-win solutions.
In accepting the award, Gallagher stressed how the industry was based on trust and relationships and noted the importance and value of each. He spoke of the rewards of his involvement in NEDA and called on others to make the most of their NEDA membership.
