Panasonic adds lean manufacturing certification to its credentials

Oct 29, 2009

Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of America added Lean Bronze-Level Certification from the alliance of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), and The Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing to the credentials of its Enterprise Consulting Group. Lean Bronze-Level Certification indicates a solid understanding of lean principles and tools, and ability in strategic implementation that drives improvement and shows measurable results.

"This certification is testament to Panasonic's commitment to investing in and building the skill sets of its resources thereby continuously fortifying a strong, value-added portfolio of solutions. It requires intensive training, examinations, project portfolios and mentoring demonstrations," said Faisal Pandit, Director of Solutions. "There are only approximately 400 individuals with Lean Bronze-Level Certification worldwide. And we are very pleased that Panasonic's own States Mead, Senior Solutions Engineer, achieved the certification this fall."

Mead is part of Panasonic's team of technology experts that provide services designed to help customers achieve the maximum return on their capital equipment investment, no matter what brand of equipment they use. Achieving key certifications, such as this Bronze-Level, is part of Panasonic's Enterprise Consulting team's dedication to helping customers maintain their competitive position and excel in the industry. In addition to Lean Manufacturing Consulting, Panasonic offers solutions ranging from Kaizen initiative assistance and Factory Analysis to OEE improvement and Green Belt Training. These solutions are available as part of the company's drive to maximize customers' productivity, not only as it relates to their equipment, but also to the processes extending throughout their enterprise.

Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of America benefits from the expertise of global manufacturing leader Panasonic Corporation to help transform customers' facilities to best-in-class levels. Additionally, the technology experts of the Enterprise Consulting team bring many years of their own experience in the manufacturing industry along with experience from performing operational consulting engagements for many top-tier EMS and OEM companies.
