Jabil Circuit wins PocketFinder contract, says paper
Jun 05, 2008
The Tampa Bay Business Journal report noted: Location devices developed under the PocketFinder brand name will be manufactured by Jabil Circuit Inc. through a new manufacturing services agreement.
PocketFinder, owned by Location Based Technologies Inc. of Anaheim, Calif., said Jabil Circuit Inc. (NYSE: JBL) will test, configure and assemble PocketFinder
products that help track when a family member or pet leaves a designated area. The devices track by using the Internet, cell phone or land line to help make the product work.
Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.
The devices, which are small enough to be kept in a pocket, purse or backpack, allows the user to create electronic "fences" that will send the primary user a notification if one of the devices leaves a specific geographic zone. The devices also can track the speed of vehicles to make sure a family member is driving at a particular speed, a release said.
