VIDEO - THE SANMINA TAPES

By Philip Stoten, on location at Sanmina, Fermoy, Ireland

Nov 06, 2013

In these two detailed interviews Philip Stoten chats with Robert O'Rouke, SVP Business Development Europe and Sean Moran, VP Operations & Plant Manager of Sanmina Fermoy about the site, the region, the business undertaken, Sanmina's value proposition and of course the markets which they operate in.

On a recent visit to Fermoy, Ireland, Philip Stoten asked Robert O'Rouke, SVP Business Development Europe, Sanmina to offer insight into the impact Ireland has had in the electronics and particularly the outsourcing industry.  The two also share some views on right shoring, or the correction in supply chain geography.

Sanmina seem to rise to technology challenges, and Philip suggests to Robert that the harder projects are the more they seem to enjoy them and feel able to add value.  The two talk about adding value, design, integrated manufacturing, product mix and markets.

Philip starts by asking Sean Moran, VP Operations & Plant Manager, Sanmina Fermoy about their success in the medical sector.  Sean sights experience, compliance, flexibility and an ability to support clients throughout the entire life cycle of the product from design to end of life of the product.  Philip asks if their medical experience and systems create a gold standard for their service.

Other topics for discussion include response, traceability, regulations and approval, partnerships with companies that don't outsource, growing the business in Ireland and the skills available locally.

Filmed on location at Sanmina Fermoy, Ireland.
