Now it's easy, quick, and simple to find and select the right Permalex Edge Metal Squeegee replacement for OEM blades. Transition Automation has compiled a handy cross-reference list that matches the many various sizes and makes of OEM blade styles with corresponding Permalex Edge Metal Squeegee part numbers. Now, upgrading to Permalex is a cinch: you can quickly identify and specify blade styles when upgrading to Permalex.
Quality-conscious customers who want the long life benefits of Permalex may choose to replace only the blade within their existing OEM holders, but this might be complicated by the many "hole patterns" and sizes offered by the OEM printer manufacturers. In some cases, users have had to measure and create custom drawings to match their OEM-supplied blades. No more!

Success with challenging assembly processes depends on the keen acumen of the process engineer, combined with the quality of the printer, stencil, solder paste and squeegee. There are also board and component factors.
A few squeegee choices are available to help maximize production efficiency. For certain applications, a 45-degree angle can deliver much better performance. Transition Automation offers a simple way to specify 45 degree angled squeegees: Simply add the code "-A45" to any Permalex Edge Metal Squeegee part number. You will receive the same quality and fast delivery you are accustomed to, along with this angle change.
Squeegees set at 45 degrees will have the following effects on the SMT printing operation: First, solder paste will be pushed "down" more than when using comparable 60-degree angled squeegees. Secondly, squeegees will "flex" better, so if there are gasketing problems due to product stiffness and warpage, or board-flatness issues (such as large feature profiles such as solder-mask or level pads), the 45-degree angled squeegees will flex and wipe better. Also, for high-speed printing, and high viscosity pastes, the increased angle of 45 degrees may reduce the wiping quality of metal squeegees. |
