CheckSum, a leading supplier of low-cost in-circuit test (ICT) systems, has announced that it has opened a new office in Shanghai, China. Sales and technical support staff located in Shanghai will serve OEMs and contract manufacturers using CheckSum test systems throughout Greater China. According to John VanNewkirk, President & CEO of CheckSum, "CheckSum has been doing business in China since the early 1990s. We already have more than 500 test systems installed in China. We opened the Shanghai office to respond to our customers' requests for a local office in China and to expand our business in this growing market." VanNewkirk pointed out that CheckSum's low-cost in-circuit testers are ideally suited for China. "Electronics manufacturers who use CheckSum testers find they can cut test costs by fifty percent, compared to more expensive traditional ATE," said VanNewkirk. CheckSum's Shanghai facility will be headed up by Tony Tan, Field Product Specialist, who previously worked at Teradyne and Landrex Technologies and has more than eight years of experience providing technical support on in-circuit testers. The new office is located at: Room 406, Yinbang Building, No. 266 Xikang Road, 200040 Shanghai. Telephone: 86-21-62569995, fax: 86-21-62569985.
