Aug 25, 2005
BP Microsystems has announced that with the release of its BP Win 4.54, all newly manufactured device programmers will ship standard with USB 2.0 communication interface. BP Micro's new product line - 1410/84, 1410/240,1610, 2610, 3610, 4610 - has replaced earlier BP Micro programmer models - 1400/84, 1400/240, 1600, 2600, 3600, 4600 - that used a parallel port to communicate from the PC to the programmer. In addition to integrating USB 2.0 to the new 1410/240 and 1410/84, these programmer models also feature an average increased programming speed of 20 percent over the 1400/240 and 1400/84. The USB technology was introduced with the Enhanced 7th Generation and was designed to meet the new technological requirements of the programming industry by providing improved communication interface between the programmer and the host PC. USB 2.0 upgrade kits are also available for sale to existing BP Micro customers using 6th and 7th Generation manual programmers. All new device programmers are supported only in Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
