Enclosed print head technology from DEK highlighted
Jul 07, 2005
With the European deadline date for the transition to lead-free rapidly approaching, DEK says that profoundly different paste properties and behaviours now make its ProFlow enclosed print head even more critical to successful process setup and mass imaging performance. ProFlow is a key element of the lead-free portfolio DEK has created to help the transition to high-quality, repeatable lead-free processing. When implementing lead-free assembly, high accuracy mass imaging using ProFlow maximises the process window, compared to conventional squeegee blades. In addition, ProFlow is said to reduce the number of variables - such as paste rheology and ambient humidity - that need to be controlled for lead-free utilisation. The result is a simplified paste evaluation process and confident vendor selection, supported by repeatable results to justify procurement decisions. In operational use, the greater transfer force delivered by ProFlow maximises stencil aperture fill and paste release efficiency. In doing so, ProFlow inherently addresses two of the greatest challenges experienced with lead-free paste characteristics. Repeatable aperture filling, low paste wastage and high throughput create a firm foundation for high-yield, high-productivity assembly. "With ProFlow technology enabling more than 80% of all enclosed heads in operation around the world, it naturally forms an integral part of our Lead-Free portfolio," explains Richard Heimsch, president of DEK International. "In ProFlow, DEK has created a powerful enabling technology for optimal lead-free performance." Find out more information on DEK Lead-free and ProFlow at www.dek.com/lead-free
