Italy`s microelectronics industry to meet in Vicenza

Mar 25, 2003

Ente Fiera di Vicenza promises innovation and technologically advanced solutions to visitors at the show and conference, to be held from October 22 to 24, 2003. At a recent press conference in Milan, Microelettronica, the annual show for Italy’s microelectronics industry, was presented by an eminent panel that included representatives from leading electronics industry associations, Turin’s CNR and Marcello Spada, a well known figure in the European PCB industry. In opening the press conference, Giovanni Lasagna, President of Vicenza’s exhibition centre, said: "Vicenza plays a key role in the economy of North-Eastern Italy, with a remarkable number of small and medium-sized enterprises that stand out for their specialization and technological development, making this show an excellent showcase for companies looking for new business opportunities". He underlined the importance of the show by mentioning that it is the result of collaboration with the organizers of Producronica and Electronica. Show management also works closely with Near-East, an organization that involves the principal Italian universities and research centers, with the aim of improving the quality of training, competitivity in research and the crossover between industry and academia. This year, the show will also host the first official meeting of Club d’Imprese Italia, an association that is soon to be launched that, according to Spada, "will be an important point of reference and go-between for companies involved in microelectronics".Microelettronica aims to attract all types of companies involved in the microelectronics supply chain: components, production, instrumentation, control and measurement, subsupplies, design, power electronics, drive technology and services. During the course of the event, a number of conferences will provide updates on a wide range of issues spanning from environmental issues to component miniaturization.Source: PCBnewsline
