Seasoned exec Howard Coltin joins to promote faster PCB component placement Interest in reducing design time with CircuitSpace puts company on fast track DesignAdvanceTM Systems, Inc., an electronic design automation (EDA) and computer aided design (CAD) design-synthesis software developer, announced that Howard Coltin has joined as Vice President of Sales. Mr. Coltin is a veteran of the design automation industry, having over 17 years of sales and management experience with EDA and CAD companies. "We are pleased to have an executive of Howard's caliber join the company," added Randy Eager, CEO and co-founder of DesignAdvance. "He is an ideal addition to our leadership team and his extensive EDA and global sales experience will play an important role in putting us on the fast track to improving PCB design worldwide." Mr. Coltin noted about his new position, "I joined DesignAdvance because I believe the company's CircuitSpace software represents a quantum leap forward in PCB design automation. CircuitSpace's intelligent and interactive component placement technology will have a dramatic impact on the PCB design process. Most recently Mr. Coltin served as Vice President of Sales for VeSys Ltd., a United Kingdom-based EDA software developer (now part of Mentor Graphics Corp.). Mr. Coltin also co-founded Linius Technologies, Inc. (now part of Autodesk, Inc.) where he began as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and later took on the role of President and CEO. Mr. Coltin received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
