IPC provides SMEMA executives with new networking opportunity
Jun 20, 2005
Listserv now available IPC is now providing IPC SMEMA (Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association) executives with an opportunity to network via a newly created e-mail forum, the IPC SMEMA Executive Listserv. This e-mail forum allows IPC SMEMA executives world wide to trade information, exchange opinions and explore solutions to common challenges. "I believe the Listserv will prove to be an excellent tool for executives of the SMEMA industry," says Gerhard Meese, executive vice president, Dover Technologies and chairman of the IPC SMEMA Management Council Steering Committee. He adds, "One of the best features of the e-mail forum is when a technical question gets posed, there are often many responses and perspectives given to each question. This is an easy, no-cost way to network, get help or give assistance to your peers within this industry." How the Listserv Works When participants sign up for the forum, they will be added to the subscriber list and given the e-mail address for the group. Participants can then ask and respond to questions on common challenges such as "Has anyone ever had a customer request xyz? How did you handle it?" Participants may also exchange industry news they would like to share on such issues as economic forecasts or company information. Every member of the group receives every e-mail. IPC monitors the e-mails and controls who participates, so it is completely secure. Says Susan Filz, IPC industry program manager, "To participate, executives must be representatives of IPC member companies that manufacture assembly equipment. We've made this Listserv available to IPC SMEMA Council members at no charge and hope members take the opportunity to help each other, network with peers as well as IPC staff."
