Acer, Asustek and BenQ showcase widescreen notebooks

Acer, Asustek and BenQ are displaying widescreen notebooks ranging in size from 12.1-inches to 17-inches at Computex 2005, with the notebooks featuring multi-media, Bluetooth, and WLAN applications. The notebooks makers stated that they expect widescreen notebooks will become the mainstream notebook segment next year, with demand for models with multi-media applications also getting a boost when the notebook market migrates to dual-core processors.
