Bob Thornton appointed Director at Contax

Leading production automation system specialist, Contax Ltd, has just appointed Bob Thornton as Director.  In this capacity, Bob will be responsible for a variety of sales and marketing functions within the UK marketplace.

This will include directing the UK sales force and ensuring that they provide their customers with the best possible consultancy, advice and service.  Bob will also be developing strategic alliances with key multi-national customers, addressing their specific needs.

In addition to his sales role, Bob will be researching new equipment technologies and launching products to new and existing customers.  Initially, this will include reviewing and assessing non-PCB assembly lines and chip-on-board systems.

With more than 18 years experience in the electronics capital equipment market, Bob is particularly well-equipped to handle this new role.  He previously held the post of UK Sales Manager at Contax and prior to this was located in the USA responsible for sales in North America.  Bob has held an engineering position at Marconi, having originally trained as a design engineer.
