Controllable wind tunnel allows thermal and airflow testing on multiple PCBs
Apr 20, 2005
Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc. (ATS) has introduced the CWT-PCB(TM) controlled wind tunnel for laboratory testing of heat and air flow on multiple PCBs. The wind tunnel's test chamber can accommodate up to 6 PCBs with 0.5-inch card-to-card spacing, or 3 PCBs with 1-inch spacing. It can be fitted with various fan trays to accommodate a broad airflow range or with heating elements to allow for elevated air temperature testing. A clear polycarbonate panel enables smoke flow visualization. The test chamber has a 2-D converging nozzle with a multi-point measurement area for placement of up to 7 sensors upstream of the test area. The CWT-PCB weighs just 60 lbs. It sits on castors for easy transportation and adoption to a wide range of lab layouts. An integrated stand supports a laptop PC or other test instruments. Dimensions are 70.5 inches high x 40 inches wide x 25 inches deep. The CWT-PCB can be manually operated or driven by a programmable fan controller system. The base price for CWT-PCB wind tunnel is under $15,000.00 More information about the CWT-PCB wind tunnel is available from the Advanced Thermal Solutions website, www.qats.com, or by calling 781-769-2800.
