Production in Benelux - pointers to becoming a profitable player

Apr 19, 2005

Assembléon hosts a seminar entitled Successful Manufacturing in the Benelux. The objective of the seminar is to show how Benelux production companies have beaten off competition from low-cost manufacturing communities, and how Benelux can continue to attract profitable business into the future.

Speakers at the seminar include Mr. E.J. Sol of the Dutch research institute TNO Industrie. He will suggest a model for Benelux manufacturers by presenting case studies showing how major players such as Philips and Nokia have achieved growth, against intense global competition, through their accurate interpretation of key market drivers and appropriate response.

Mr. D Kemps and M. van Nieuwland of ING Bank will discuss the results of their research into investment in the successful Benelux construction and metal industries, and draw parallels with other high-tech businesses.

Mr. H. van Egmond of semiconductor equipment supplier BESI will reveal how smart manufacturing can achieve 40 percent lower production costs in Benelux than anywhere else in the world.

Finally seminar participants will have the opportunity to attend presentations and demonstrations of Assembléon's innovative products and services.

The seminar will be held at Assembléon's headquarters in Veldhoven, The Netherlands, and is open to all interested electronic manufacturing companies in the Benelux region. Further details are available from Assembléon, and would-be delegates are recommended to apply before the end of April.
