Apr 14, 2005
The new placement machine platform from Siemens L&A's Electronics Assembly Systems Division (EA) - the Siplace X-series - not only claims to be the technology leader in the SMT industry, but it features an outstanding design as well. Renowned and respected jury members of the international "iF product design award" and the "reddot design award" recently presented these awards to Siemens EA for its Siplace X-series. The new Siplace X-platform impressed the board of jurors of the international iF product design and reddot design competitions in every respect. For 2005, the "iF product design award" received more than 2,300 submissions from 31 countries. There are 12 categories, with the Siplace X-series winning one of the coveted awards in the Industrial Design category. The experts on the jury under the chairmanship of Fritz Frenkler (f/p design, Frankfurt) evaluated not only the form and function of products, but also their ergonomics and use of environmentally friendly materials and processes. The jurors of the "reddot design award" confirmed these outstanding features of the Siplace X-series. This year they looked at more than 1,900 submissions. The red dot design award ranks among the largest design competitions worldwide. The competition is divided into three sections - product design, communication design and design concept - which are staged and adjudicated separately. The coveted trophy is the red dot, the international seal of quality for outstanding design.
