World Wiser beat Compeq in Taiwan PCB output last year
Mar 07, 2003
Compeq Manufacturing ranked as the top Taiwanese PCB manufacturer last year, followed by World Wiser Electronics and Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board, according to a report released by the Taiwan Printed Circuit Board Association (TPCA).The association said that the ranking was based on the PCB companies’ total revenues both in China and Taiwan, including non-PCB revenues. On the island alone, however, World Wiser Electronics surpassed Compeq in output last year as shipment disruption of flip-chip (FC) substrates took a toll on the latter’s PCB shipments. In their attempt to lower costs, some Taiwanese PCB companies have already started mass production in China, while others have either acquired stakes in mainland Chinese PCB makers or are currently building plants in China. Out of 36 Taiwanese PCB companies with revenues of over NT$1 billion this year, 14 have overseas production facilities.Compeq currently has one manufacturing plant in Guangdong Province while World Wiser is expanding from Guangdong Province to Jiangsu Province. Nan Ya PCB is constructing a new plant in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province.Source: DigiTimes
