Sales of BenQ's Joybook notebooks in China have gotten back on track, with current shipments reaching 5,000-6,000 units a month, said Hank Horng, president of the computer products strategy business group at BenQ. Shipments of Joybook notebooks will continue to pick up in the second half of the year and placing BenQ as one of the top-10 notebook vendors in China by the third quarter, Horng stated. BenQ is also in talks with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and may increase its purchases of CPUs from AMD, Horng noted, adding that the deal has not been finalized. However, Intel will remain BenQ's primary CPU supplier, Horng said. source: Digitimes
