January mobo shipments from Taiwan top four to drop 3% sequentially

Shipments from the four first-tier Taiwan motherboard makers - Asustek Computer, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) - are expected to decline 3% sequentially to 8.05 million units in January due to lower-than-expected demand in the channel, particularly in China, according to a recent report from Goldman Sachs.
