Motorola plans to extend T191 order at BenQ, sources say

Feb 26, 2003

Boosted by continuing demand for its T191 handsets, Motorola is likely to extend contract-manufacturing orders at BenQ, which handles design and production of the model, sources said.According to sources, Motorola had previously scheduled to terminate BenQ’s T191 ODM contract in April but now is considering having production continue until the end of the year. The T191 has been on the market for nearly two years and has always been one of the best-selling handset models.BenQ said earlier that it expects its 2003 handset shipments to be flat with those of last year at 16 million units.Source: DigiTimes
