PEMSTAR promotes Roy A. Bauer to President

PEMSTAR Inc. (Nasdaq:PMTRE) announced that Roy A. Bauer, 59, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer, has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. Bauer also has been named to the company's board of directors. In his new role, Bauer will assume greater responsibility over all operational functions for PEMSTAR. Al Berning will continue in his role as chairman of the board and chief executive officer, no longer serving as president. "We brought Roy on board in 2001 for his extensive industry and global operational experience. He's a tremendous asset to PEMSTAR, and promoting him to president is recognition of his performance, abilities and potential," said Berning. "As president, Roy will assume responsibility for the strategic and operational decision-making functions of PEMSTAR. In addition, his focus will be on operational efficiency, quality and organizational development at our company and its facilities around the world, thereby enhancing PEMSTAR's status as a world-class engineering and manufacturing company." Bauer added, "I'm excited to take on new responsibilities and challenges for PEMSTAR as we continue to enhance operations to best meet the needs of our customers. Across the organization, we're committed to improving efficiencies and financial performance, strengthening our management systems and growing the company." In addition to his responsibilities for global operations, the finance, and sales and marketing functions will report to Bauer.
