Defense contracts announced Monday

The U.S. Department of Defense announced the following contracts Monday:Lockheed Martin Corp. is being awarded a $37.6 million modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for the manufacture, assembly, test, and installation of four anti-surface warfare improvement program kits for the P-3C Update III aircraft, installation of five electronic flight display systems, and associated data and sustaining engineering and logistics support. Work will be performed in Egan, Minn., (26%), Greenville, S.C. (22%); Clearwater, Fla. (16%); Farmingdale, N.Y. (11%); Burlington, Ontario, Canada (9%); Morgan Hill, Calif. (9%); and at various locations across the United States (7%), and is to be completed in June 2005.Sparton Corp. is receiving a $14.2 million split award of a firm-fixed- price contract for 30,636 AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys and associated data. AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys are dropped from various airborne platforms and utilized for search and detection of submerged submarines. Work will be performed in DeLeon Springs and is to be completed by February 2005.Raytheon Co. is being awarded $28 million firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for AN/ALE-50(V) towed decoy, 1,012 each for the Air Force and 300 each for the Navy. Total funds have been obligated. This work will be completed by April 2005.Boeing Co. is being awarded a $19 million cost-plus fixed-fee contract modification to provide for design and development effort for modification of one C-130 cargo aircraft to the current AC-130 gunship configuration. At this time, $14.2 million of the funds has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be completed by October 2005.Source: Dow Jones
