Dec 09, 2004
Q Comm International Inc., a provider of prepaid transaction processing and electronic point-of-sale (POS) distribution solutions, has announced that it has entered into a manufacturing relationship with Shera Technology. Shera, along with Q Comm's current vendor, Universal Electronics, will manufacture Q Comm's "Qxpress" point-of-sale terminals. This contract with Shera will allow Q Comm to purchase terminals at a lower cost. Shera provides off-shore manufacturing services to American and Canadian companies, while maintaining superior customer service and communication through western management personnel that work overseas. Terry Kramer, CEO of Q Comm, said of selecting Shera: "The choice of Shera Technology as an additional manufacturer for our terminals will allow us to purchase terminals at a much lower cost and will allow us greater flexibility in the delivery of the new terminals. Also, the high quality, user-friendly design of the Shera terminals is being well received by Q Comm's customers that have tested the terminal." Q Comm's decision to retain Shera came after a process of extensive due diligence by the company. Q Comm's vice president of engineering, Fred Schade, said: "Q Comm and Shera have gone to extensive lengths to ensure that these new terminals meet the highest standards for quality. Q Comm believes that these new terminals represent the highest quality product to-date."
