ECA Postpones EMS Industry Forum
Feb 13, 2003
The Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association (ECA) has postponed its scheduled February 20 EMS Forum until April 29. The meeting, designed to enable EMS senior managers to address issues and set the groundwork for a new industry association, is still scheduled for the Wyndham San Jose hotel. The postponement decision was made after consulting ECA leadership and membership, according to Bob Willis, ECA president. "The decision is based on the increased security risks announced by the U.S. government, which has created uncertainty for near-term planning and travel," says Willis. "ECA still believes strongly that the EMS Forum is critical for addressing many of the issues that can improve supply flow understanding and help EMS companies adjust to supply and demand equations."ECA anticipates that the 60-day postponement will provide time for companies to adjust to the emerging geopolitical situation and plan their participation in the event. EMS companies interested in attending the forum can contact ECA at 703-907-7070 or visit http://www.ec-central.org/ems_reg. htm for more information or to register.Source: PCBnewsline
