Dell and HP to capture 40% of global notebook market in 2005

Dell and Hewlett-Packard (HP) are each expected to ship 11-12 million notebooks in 2005, accounting for more than 40% of the global market, according to preliminary estimates by Taiwan notebook makers.

Shipments from Dell and HP will dwarf the totals from other vendors, the sources noted.
