Vishay receives award from government of India

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has announced that Vishay India has received an award for Excellence in Electronics: 2002-2003 from the Government of India, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This prestigious award is given to companies in different categories for their important contributions to the Indian electronics industry. Vishay India was chosen as the top company in the category of Electronic Components and Materials. In the recently held awards ceremony in New Delhi, India, Mr. R.G. Deshpande, Managing Director, Vishay India, received the trophy from Thiru Dayanidhi Maran, Honorable Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Speaking at the event in New Delhi, Mr. Deshpande said, "This award recognizes our company's contributions for many years to the electronics industry, and also recognizes our pioneering role as a manufacturer of electronic components. As an important part of Vishay Intertechnology - a global industry leader - and with the commitment of our employees, Vishay India will continue to support the strong growth of electronic hardware in India."
