Stackpole Electronics, Inc. reintroduces 1 watt resistor

Sep 29, 2004

Resistor manufacturer, Stackpole Electronics, Inc. has developed a true 1-watt carbon composition resistor to accompany its existing 1/4-watt and 1/2-watt carbon composition resistor offering.

Designated the RC1 series this carbon composition resistor technology has a rated power of 1-watt at 70°C and a resistance range from 2.2 ohms to 1M ohms in tolerances to +/-10%. The RC1 demonstrates excellent voltage handling of 500 volts continuous and 1000 volts max. while exhibiting very low inductance.

The RC1 has been reintroduced to offer circuit designers an effective means of withstanding short-term pulses and high voltage loads seen in today's circuitry.

Regarding the launch of the RC1 series of resistors, Stackpole's Director of Sales Rob Hudspeth said, "The RC1 series allows engineers the performance advantages of carbon comps and off-the-shelf availability not seen in more than 15 years."
