Kester's David Torp to participate on upcoming JISSO Panel at ATExpo
Aug 24, 2004
Kester has announced that its Vice President of Sales & Marketing, David Torp is to participate on the JISSO Panel, to be held during SMTA International/Assembly Technology Expo (ATE). Sponsored by SMT Magazine, and moderated by Editor-in-Chief Gail Flower, the panel provides attendees with information and updates on JISSO. The JISSO concept, which began in Japan, is spreading worldwide. JISSO, literally translating to "mounting" in Japanese, looks at the interfaces between different industries — wafer fab, packaging, assembly, etc. and tries to smooth the supply chain between them internationally. This means analyzing technical market trends, identifying problem areas, ensuring a common way of naming devices and assemblies, ensuring that standards and guidelines are communicated and harmonized internationally, and that specific issues are covered, for example lead-fee assembly. The JISSO panel will be comprised of members of the JISSO North American Committee, which represents North American interests to this group. Members from Europe and Japan also have been invited to participate. Besides Torp, other panelists include members from IBM Corporation, SiliconPipe, Cookson Electronics, JPCA (Japan Printed Circuits Association) and Infineon Technologies. The panel will be held Tuesday, September 28 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. in Room 3, and is free to all attendees.
