Quanta and Acer post disappointing profits for 2002

According to the Taipei Times, Quanta Computer posted declines in fourth-quarter and full-year profits last year while Acer’s non-consolidated net profits failed to meet its target for the year.Quanta’s net profits last year fell to NT$10.8 billion from NT$11.9 billion in 2001. Its fourth-quarter net profits fell to NT$2.76 billion (about US$79 million), down 5.8% from the third quarter.Acer posted non-consolidated net profits of NT$8.7 billion for 2002 while its forecast had been NT$10.6 billion.
