IMS' Low Pass Filter a 'Drop In' SMT Solution for Microwave Design Engineers
Jul 16, 2004
Rf / microwave circuit design engineers will find IMS' new thick film low pass filter a compact, 'drop-in' capable, all-in-one solution where flexibility, reliability, and simplicity are desired. Recently introduced by International Manufacturing Services, Inc. (IMS), a leading manufacturer of high quality thick film resistors and substrates to the electronics industry, the low-pass filter is planar, surface mountable, and completely integral. The new filter is compact - its space-saving mechanical dimensions are only .550" L x .440" W x .025" thick, offering greater flexibility for high-density circuit configurations. The pass band is 1200 MHz +/- 250 MHz. Rejection at 2.5 GHz is –25 dB minimum and is maintained to 4.6 GHz. VSWR is 1.1 VSWR over a 20% bandwidth. Insertion loss is .5 dB over entire passband. The filter's design incorporates lumped/distributed parameters, is bilaterally symmetric and contains 7 sections with a 50 Ohm input and output. IMS can manufacture similar filters to many different suitable specifications.
