Wherify selects Flextronics to develop and manufacture next generation CDMA GPS locator phone

Wherify's CDMA GPS locator phone to be the first in a line of next generation GPS locators being developed to meet global personal safety and security market needs.

Wherify Wireless, Inc., a developer of wireless location products and services based on the company's pioneering back-end location service platform, today announced it is using Flextronics International Ltd. (Nasdaq:FLEX - News) to develop and manufacture Wherify's next generation CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) GPS Locator Phone. Flextronics is a global full-service provider of innovative design, engineering and manufacturing solutions with operations in 29 countries and five continents. Wherify, which has previously announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement and plan of merger with IQ Biometrix, Inc. (OTCBB:IQBM - News) of Fremont, Calif., is also developing location-based services and products for pets, valuable assets, cargo, and vehicles.

Neher added, that to meet market demands for GPS location products and services worldwide in Europe, Asia (China), Latin America, Wherify also plans to begin manufacturing a GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication)-based GPS Locator Phone to their product line in the near future.

Wherify's next-generation GPS Locator phone, the first in a line of next generation Wherify location-based products and services, combines GPS and CDMA digital wireless technology and is geared towards consumers and businesses looking for a unique personal safety and security device that can be used to keep tabs on the location of people (no matter their age), within feet, through the Internet or any phone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Wherify GPS Locator Phone incorporates such features as a voice speakerphone, one-touch programmable buttons with direct dial to a family member, co-worker, or other important contact, and 911 in the event of an emergency. The voice speakerphone adds an extra layer of safety and security for the person carrying the Wherify GPS Locator Phone and will become a standard feature in future Wherify personal location devices.

Wherify's GPS Locator Phone is the latest product in a family of next-generation Wherify GPS Locators coming to market that are smaller and lighter than their predecessor, the Wherify GPS Locator for Kids, and will come in a variety of form-factors from handheld devices with unique designs, to GPS Locators about the size of a matchbox.
