VSMT sells first component placement system

Jun 29, 2004

Surface mount equipment supplier VSMT has announced that is has sold its first high-performance QPlacer HS 4000 component placement system, which has joined the company's entry-level QPlacer S to expand the choices available to customers.

On Board Surface Mount Assembly Ltd concluded the deal during the launch of the new HS 4000 at Nepcon in May this year.

"The QPlacer is fast, accurate, enables very quick set-up and takes all of our existing feeders,”comments On Board’s Managing Director, Fred Starkey. "With a 4000 components per hour capacity, it will double our existing capability and will enable us to consistently meet our production objectives and offer faster turnaround to our customers."

Designed by the same engineering team that developed the outstanding Versatronics RV range, the modular QPlacer HS 4000 features intuitive graphical controls with fast drag and drop actions for setup and changeover, 80 feeder lanes, and dual on the fly cameras for very high placement rates and pinpoint accuracy.

On Board's Starkey is impressed with the productivity features VSMT has built into QPlacer HS 4000. "QPlacer HS 4000's SmartLoad facility is very powerful at changeover, and allows us to change to another PCB within a few minutes. Quick setup and changeover are paramount for many of the small to medium volume projects that we run. Our new QPlacer HS 4000 will help further improve our ability to service our customers’ requirements by delivering high quality and fast turnaround."
