Company Also Receives Three Market Leadership Awards
Frost & Sullivan recognized Agilent Technologies as the 2004 Preferred Test and Equipment Vendor of the Year for its strong global presence and wide market coverage at last night's Excellence in Industrial Technologies awards banquet here.
Frost & Sullivan conducted extensive research to present this award to the company whose technologies have created a lasting effect on the industry, and one that is driven by its core competencies such as research and development. Agilent has shown efficiency in allocating resources to improve market share without affecting other performance factors. In addition, the company has demonstrated excellent progress in increasing revenue growth rates, profitability, and innovative new product introductions.
Agilent Technologies offers a wide variety of test equipment for markets including telecom/datacom, general-purpose test, analytical instrumentation, chemical and life sciences, and semiconductor test.
For continual success in executing its business and growth strategies, Agilent has also received the 2004 Frost & Sullivan Awards for Market Leadership for the World Arbitrary Waveform Generator market, Spectrum Analyzer market and Vector Network Analyzer markets. Agilent is a market leader in metro area network, wireless, and telecom/datacom test equipment.
During the downturn, Agilent restructured its operations, cut its workforce and reduced discretionary spending to return to profitability.
Agilent's strong orientation toward R&D is evident in its investment of more than $1 billion every year, and in its ability to reorient itself to changing directions of the market. The company's focus on emerging markets has enabled it to develop innovative, next-generation technologies and solutions to meet demands in new wireless LAN, aerospace and defense applications.
Agilent's brand recognition is high among both peers and end users. The company understands and addresses key end-user concerns with cutting-edge technology and its integrated and modular approach.
"Apart from the traditional test equipment markets such as the United States and Europe, the growing presence of Agilent Technologies in Asia Pacific bears testimony to its commitment toward meeting customer needs globally," says Frost & Sullivan analyst Sankar Prakash.
Driven by its belief in the future of wireless communications and a willingness to adopt a cautious, yet progressive approach toward market realities, Agilent has established its presence globally, maintaining its position as market leader across geographies. With its expertise in various market segments and focus on building strong relationships with end users, Agilent is poised to continue to grow as a vendor of choice in the test and measurement industry.
The Frost & Sullivan banquet honored world-class companies for outstanding performance and achievements in industrial technologies. An annual event, the banquet recognized the quality and merit of distinguished individuals and companies.
